Description
Did you know that Fairthorne Manor has direct access onto the River Hamble? If you have your own stand up paddleboard, kayak, canoe or dinghy you can now access the river via our pontoon or slipway.
During winter months (October – March) the river will be open 7 days a week between 08.00 and 1 hour before sunset. During summer months (April – September) the river will be open weekends and bank holidays only. The exception to this will be 26th – 28th June where the whole site will be closed for access.
An access charge is payable, for smaller craft this is £5 and for those using the slipway it is £10, this includes car parking and access to toilets and showers.
Car parking is on a first come first serve basis and payments can be taken at reception during opening hours or directly with the Duty Manager at all other times. Please note all payments to the Duty Manager are cash only.

The upper reaches of the Hamble are a jewel to explore on a lazy summer day with the wind rustling through the reeds, swans gliding serenely on calm waters and you dipping your toes over the side into the cooling waters.
Fairthorne is the ideal spot from which to launch your own SUP/canoe/kayak or hire one of the YMCAs craft for your group.
