Netarts Bay is shallow. It has meandering channels which are pleasant at low tide but at mid tide they submerge. When hidden under shallow water finding your way is challenging. Remember you can reach down with both hands into shallow water and scoot your boat across the sand. At high tide you can go anywhere you want. Whiskey Creek has sufficient flow to form a channel which connects to the larger channels, so launching at low tide is possible. My favorite trip is to arrive at the south end of the bay at high tide then ride it back to Whiskey Creek as the tide is going out.
