Skamokawa Vista Park

Skamokawa, US

Description

Skamokawa Creek to the north will be a shorter trip at low tide than at high. Well worth doing either way. To the south it gives access to Steamboat Slough. Also the the Columbia River which has multiple Cargo Ships daily. The creek has a deep channel on it's eastern side where their WAKE will be a swell, but in shallow water such as you'll find near the westside beach it will be a breaking wave. Down bound ships have less effect. The wake from loaded upstream ships is very significant. The north bank of the Columbia west from Skamokawa is absolutely fabulous.
