Schoharie Crossing

Schoharie Creek - Amsterdam, US

Description

Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site is located in the towns of Glen and Florida, Montgomery County, NY. We provide history programs and recreational opportunities to showcase the engineering marvel that is the Erie Canal. Paddling from our Boat Launch is encouraged, along with small motorized watercraft. The launch enters into the historic Schoharie Creek at its confluence with the mighty Mohawk River. During the operation season (May to October), the concrete launch has a floating dock, though for paddlers there is plenty of shoreline hand launch space.

At the east end of the site, Yankee Hill - about three miles from the boat launch, there is a floating dock with kayak launch attached for access as well.
