Description
A nice short weekend trip with easy kayaking for all. You can put in a the public boat launch that’s in fair condition next to the Tecumseh Padding Company. The launch is free, but they do ask for a $2.00 donation to maintain the ramp. It’s an honor system with a box mounted on a pole. The lake/pond is nice to kayak around to see the area. The pond itself connects to River Raisin that snakes it’s way around the area for nice scenery with lots of wildlife. As your kayaking the river it will take you to other ponds. There are some areas you will have to carry your kayak to the next pond to keep going down the river, but these tend to be very short hauls to go around dams. We seen lots of fish, turtles and deer along the shores. You are able to kayak up and down the river with little work, but keep an eye out for fallen trees. It’s worth the trip for a nice Saturday or Sunday trip.
