- Davis Creek Recreation Area South Side
Description
Davis Creek is a large area just north and west of Scotia, NE, about an hour’s drive north from the Grand Island Interstate 80 exits. This large lake gets a lot of powered boat traffic in the main busy of the lake, but also has a large no wake area with coves and inlets to explore (most of it is protected from the wind by tree cover). The many west side inlets off the main lake body are easily reachable and fun to paddle with ample tree cover to prevent them from getting choppy. The east side inlets would require a challenging paddle to reach, made difficult by wind and chop from larger boats (you would also want to take care to cross closer to the dam and out of their way). Park near the swimming beach and enter there or at the nearby boat ramp into the no wake area. Also see the go paddling entry about the north side of Davis Creek. Camping, restrooms, and trails are also present here. For more information visit: https://www.nrdnet.org/rec-are...
