Darby Creek at SEPTA Drexeline Stop

Darby Creek

Description

I took an NRS Outlaw 1 inflatable kayak on the SEPTA 101 trolley to the Drexeline stop.
I walked over the bridge then down the trail and put in slightly below the trestle.
I paddled about 3.5 miles down to South Lansdowne and took out at Pennock woods.
Then I walked up the trail and took the septa 113 bus home.
The river included about 1% fast deep rapids, 5% shallow riffles that you had to drag the boat over and the rest was clear deep pools.
I had one carry at Oakmont dam and another at Baltimore turnpike which was under construction. I saw deer, heron, ducks and trout.
