Champlain Park Beach

Lake Nippissing / Lavase river

Description

Sand beach to launch from. Gets deep quickly. It’s a city park, and it’s nice. Parking available over at the boat launch parking, it’s a really short walk from there to the beach. The boat launch is pretty flat, concrete pavers of some type, there’s a dock to tie up on. You have 2 options from here: you can paddle up the Lavase river (approx 8kms round trip) there’s lots of turtles and birds, and the current isn’t too bad. Or, from this launch point you can head out into lake Nippissing. The lake is on the shallow side, so the water gets a little sporty/ rough on windy days.
