This is most likely the most beginner friendly kayak spot in the Dubuque area. There's a kayak launch at the dock providing no hassle with entering or exiting the water. The parking lot has room for 10-15 cars and a roofed bench; there is no garbage can, though. The parking lot is sometimes near capacity on Saturdays. The water is usually completely still and plenty deep. There are plenty of spots to pull over but not many to get out due to mud.
