Made in America, the Crescent LiteTackle is SOLID! That is also to say it is not light weight at about 75 lbs but, for a 12'+ long rock solid kayak, that is to be expected. This boat glides through the water with such ease. It's length gives it speed but the rocker shape of it's hull allows it to turn like a much smaller boat. It's hull design is such that it remains true when paddling straight without the need of an added skeg. It has a wide, flat cockpit and a strong secondary edge that makes it exceedingly stable in the water. Standing up in this kayak is no problem at all. Another interesting point about the shape of the hull is the front of the boat is shaped such that it can glide over good sized waves rather than crashing through them, keeping you and your gear dry. This boat turns heads when out on the water. I wanted a boat I would be happy with for years to come so I spent a little more than I would have on a big box store special and I am so glad that I did!
