I am a fly fisherman and I have used the Slayer XC on all moving and flat water. It has performed flawlessly. The kayak has lots of open space for not only standing but also for stripping of fly line. The skeg makes it a joy to navigate on moving water and the hull design bounces off of rocks and logs when going down the river. I love the horizontal rod storage for both fly rod/reels as well as conventional rod/reel combos. Unless I'm using conventional tackle I have the electronics pod out of the yak freeing up the cockpit for fly fishing. The width of the kayak makes it uber stable and that is important as I am 64 years old and don't want to worry about stability. Additionally, it has tons of well space and inside hull space for those 3 day two night river trips.
