I am brand new to the Kayak world and was looking for something to get me started. I found the Viper on sale at Menards and picked one up. Since then I have taken many trips and added a couple features, hooks and paddle holders to keep the stuff I need close. I love this Kayak as a starter. I do plan to get a longer Kayak for the big trips and someday look to getting a short one for some rougher white water type trails. I definitely recommend this to a beginner or someone who is unsure if they will like it or not. We have a ton of fun and have taken them through Cascades in Ann Arbor, Across Detroit River to Belle Isle, On smaller lakes and plan to do Clinton River soon. Overall good Kayak, very stable. Only down side is no one makes a skirt for it so catching any waves means you will take on water.
