38 lbs and 8' 5"L x 30"w makes for easy handling and loading, etc. I exceed by 10 lbs the Marked 225 lb Max Paddler weight. This boat handled my weight (235) with ease. Some water came in the scuppers but very little and my bathing suit remained dry for my trial paddle. I have owned/paddled many Kayaks and this one is by far the lowest cost but the most bang for the buck! Slow, yes. good tracking, NO. Next up will be the FL Gulf beach for my intended use as a surf toy and short trip fishing platform and based on my initial use I expect it to be good if not great for those activities.
