This canoe is tough as nails. I bought mine used and paddled high country lakes, Snoqualmie, Snohomish and Skykomish rivers. At low water levels the canoe suffered a lot of scratches and even banked on rocks. This is the only canoe that can stand this type of abuse year after year. The large capacity along with its great turning and even keel make it a great fishing, still water and up to class 3 canoe. I have ran with the salmon, paddled on Bellingham bay and honed my skills at Big eddy. The 98 lbs with the molded seats is heavy but two can easily handle the extra 25-35 lbs of other high end canoes.
