I use the c-tug with my 13’ Eddyline C-135 Stratofisher and 12’ Sears Gamefisher row boat. I’ve had the problem of the c-tug flipping out from under each boat and the strap slipping off.

I fixed the problem by installing an 1-1/2” wide cam lock strap (made for battery hold down), on each side of the pads and securing each separately on the boat through a tie down for each side.

For my kayak, I inserted a tie down on each side in the rear tracks to thread each strap through. The large metal cam lock lets me cinch each side down tight.

Locking each side down independently has prevented the flipping and the one piece strap from slipping off the kayak or need for bungee cords to keep the strap and c-tug from slipping.

For the Gamefisher, I installed the strap guides that came with the 1-1/2” battery hold down cam lock straps about 18” on each side of the bow and about 2” below the top of each side.

Really stays in place now!
