This is a good recreational kayak for a really large paddler. With a light load it behaves more like a canoe in a crosswind. The rudder system is flimsy. It would be much better if it was equipped with a skeg or a Smart-Trac rudder that doesn't interfere with bracing. The seat is very comfortable, but it is so large and flat it doesn't translate hip motion. The seat location close to rear of the hatch makes skirt attachment easy. The built in paddle braces make re-entry easier. As a recreational kayak it's a 10. As a touring kayak it's high deck and rudder system will be a challenge. Not the kayak for anyone less than 6' tall and 250 lbs.
