Durable, tracks well, multipurpose, fun. My family bought one when I was a small child. It was great for small lakes and tortuous small streams in South Jersey. We soon bought a used second one. Later we learned to whitewater canoe in them. Fifty years later my mom & sister still use one for canoeing in the Pines. The Old Town Royalex they'd added to the fleet sits unused -- too heavy, less stable, and tracks less well. I'm now shopping for a used Grumman 17 to replace my EasyRider Ouzel 15-8. The Ouzel is a nice canoe, but doesn't track well, is harder to paddle on lakes, has a more vulnerable hull, and has less usable capacity. The Ouzel will make someone else quite happy, but the Grumman 17 is the one for me.
