This is a fun boat. It is perfect for surfing, rock gardening and tidal play. You only have to face the the direction you want to go and the boat goes there. For this reason one doesn't learn to be a better boat handler from paddling this kayak. It's almost too easy to maneuver. When I went back to my Cetus I needed to practice my edging to gain back my control. The Aires is fine for day trips and weekend camping however it isn't the expedition boat you might need. Because it has a lot of rocker it may not be your boat of choice in high winds. When you drop the skeg the boat behaves just like a long boat. Other than that it may be one of most responsive boats you will ever paddle.
