Probably about as comfortable as lugging around a 60 liter barrel can be. I've used this harness with a 60l barrel for one season of canoe tripping in and around the Adirondacks. It's a comfortable harness with some good features. I like that you have the option for either a 60 or 30 liter barrel. It has good attachment points and a generous amount of padding in the shoulder straps and hip belt. No signs of wear and tear yet, it seems to be well made with quality materials, so I'd say it's plenty durable. It definitely makes portaging a more enjoyable experience and along with the barrel, it sits very well in the center of our canoe. I will notice some discomfort in my lower back on longer treks, but I think that just comes with the territory. Overall, I'm happy I got it and I'd buy it again if need be.
