This picture was taken at the end of an area called "the Big Bend" of the Lower Flathead River, about 28 miles below Flathead Lake. It is about 1 mile upstream from Sloan Bridge, where we took out. The picture was taken on May 20th, just a week or so ago. It was a 20 mile float in Class 1 water on a beautiful Montana spring day with extremely high water. The mountains in the background are the Mission Range.
