Score was my first personal kayak that I bought 5 years ago. It is a great boat even for inexperienced paddlers - with the steeper learning curve you improve faster. It has too big a volume (even for a 6" 199lb guy) to be thrown around on a flat water but it is quite stable and fast and I like to paddle it on rivers, lake waves, and flats too.

The previous review is accurate. It's flat bottom and rectangular cross section does require a better roll than the old-school boats with the oval cross section. If you are ready to get out on a river to have fun on waves and in holes, or even surfing at the beach, this boat kicks ass. It surfs great, easy to stern squirt on a good eddy line, and it handles great as a down river boat in class 3 and 4 water (I haven't done class 5 yet). This is a boat for aggressive paddlers who are too big to fit into the tiny play boats. At 6'2", 185 pounds, size 12 feet, it is fairly comfortable. I love it.

My first Kayak should not have been this one. This is definitely a performance boat. Wavesport says it is for beginners to expert but I don't think so. It is very flat and wide ( planing hull) so therefore you must have a good roll before buying this boat. The ends are very slicey and the stern catches the current easily every time I crossed an eddyline. This is a great boat for experienced paddlers but just was not the right boat for me to learn in.
