    Kiwassa 13.2 Description

Many kayakers prefer shorter boats, but the available options lack the desired performance offered by a longer hull. The Kiwassa 13.2 is the ultimate compromise. Combining the agility of a short playboat with the glide of a sport touring boat, the Kiwassa13.2 is limber and lively like a shorter boat, and smooth and strong like a larger boat.

Light and stiff - My Kiwassa…

Light and stiff - My Kiwassa is the kevlar model, consequently it weighs just 34 pounds. The collar inside the cockpit is well padded which allows me to shoulder the boat for a well-balanced and easy carry to the water. I did get one with a drop-down skeg which helps tremendously in a crosswind. Plenty of dry storage fore and aft for some dry towels, lunch, etc.. . All of my paddling is in the Finger Lakes of Central New York where boat traffic can be busy, even during dusk and dawn, so I did add some Navisafe LED running lights (attached with velcro), Night time paddling is one of life's greatest experiences. We own three other boats, but this Kiwassa is my personal favorite. Kozmo 18

As an update to my earlier review of the Kiwassa 13.2, I would like to add that Swift is the "most customer appreciative" company that I've ever heard of. When a minor problem was discovered in my boat - THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE BOAT. I only asked for some assistance with the repair, but Bill Swift (Owner) contacted me personally and insisted on a full replacement. They duplicated all of my original specifications, seat, colors, etc. and to top it all off, Mr. Swift delivered the boat himself. Would General Motors or Toyota do that??? What a great company - what a great boat.

    If the early Swift Kiwassa…

If the early Swift Kiwassa models were made of thermoform plastic, it comes as a surprise to me. Today they are all fiberglass, kevlar or carbon fiber - and they are spectacular. I chose the 34 pound kevlar 13.2 model. The current seat is better than the desk chair that I spent a career in. My Kiwassa has a skeg, which adds tremendously to open water stability.
    Thanks Swift.
