Piece of junk. Pros light weight. Cons Wife's first SUP. First trip out her foot caught the rear rail of the board and the top layer of glass immediately bubbled up. Next week first time using to catch a small Florida wave. Falls on top of the board and the entire board breaks in half. Unbelievable. The inside of the board looks like cheap styrofoam like you would see on a supermarket boogie board. Just junk. Usage yoga, touring, surfing

I love my SUP. We use them almost every weekend in the intercostal. It has plenty of room for myself and my son along with some toys. We usually end up on a random island exploring. Pros I love the stability. Cons I wish it was a little easier to guide. It could be just me thought but I feel the 11'6 is easier to steer and faster. Usage Exercise, leisure, surfing.

Woowww!!! I love this board I bought it 3 months ago and used it a lot since then :) It is relatively light weight (I'm a short women and I handle it fine), very easy to maneuver, quite fast and great for Yoga. I really enjoy this board and the price is relatively affordable. Pros easy to maneuver Fast Great for Yoga Beautiful ;) Cons No Bungee cord Usage Mostly for paddling on the river and lakes. Will try it on the ocean soon. Some Yoga

My husband and I took lessons in Maine for the first time. I used this board first on the flat marsh water then out through the jetty and ended up riding waves in. I fell off on the waves but have never done it before and felt comfortable getting back on. When the jet skis came by in the jetty to make waves around us I felt stable and secure and stayed on, We had to carry it across a small beach and I am 5'5 155 pounds and it was very doable. I I like the weight and thickness too. Pros Length and weight good. Easy to handle. Cons Only con was I don't own it myself! Rented it. But would buy one if I had the money. Only gave it four stars because I am a beginner and don't really have a lot to compare it to. Usage Recreational. Used on flat water and waves.

Great stable stand up paddle board. Easy for the beginner and good for the more advanced. This is not a flimsy board, it is solid and wide enough to exercise or do yoga. Also like the lightness of it for carrying. Fun little toy. Pros Easy to maneuver yet sturdy enough to exercise with. Cons No problems here Usage Touring and playing

I really enjoyed using this board on one of my trips to Maryland last year. We hit the back bays pretty hard and lucked out with some excellent weather. All the Riviera SUP's I have ever taken out have been extremely well balanced and versatile. You honestly can't go wrong with Riviera, their performance speaks for themselves. Pros Definitely the contour and shape of the board. Has a contemporary look without sacrificing performance! Cons I truly can't say that I experienced any deficiencies or cons. Usage Touring, sometimes surf, and always for exercise!

This board was just what I was looking for in a versatile board. I look for wind and waves, a bit of a challenge. This board Is great for the surf, and if playing around, stalls , enders, pivot turns are your thing then this board is what u are looking for. A good board to grow into or improve your skills with. Pros Fin set up is great, remove or add depending on the day Cons The deck pad is soft, which can be good for grip but easily torn Usage Exercise, surf, and river running (repairs easily)

Good for surfing body-sized waves. Fair to light touring. Poor for serious touring. Pros Well made. Nice rocker for surfing. Good rail profiles, especially hard rails in rear. Cons For surfing no complaints - it is was it is. For touring, especially up-river, rocker and design make it a poor choice. Usage Average three to four times a week - evening runs on river. Weekend surfing, when I can.

rented this board in Galveston, TX and rode it for 3 days. Pretty fun all around board, especially with the 3 fin setup. Highly maneuverable and can be used to catch waves. Pros - easy to maneuver - surfs ok for a planing board - good beginner board - stable Cons - handle broke on the rental board we're using - could be a bit lighter Usage rented it in Galveston, TX for 3 days..

I love this board! I tried out many different types of boards and after using the Riviera Paddlesurf 10'6" all the rest felt clunky and slow. The Riviera is so light and fast and responsive, I can't wait to try it out on some small ocean waves! Pros Very maneuverable, light and easy to carry and load on/off the car, and yet feels very stable to stand on. Great price compared to other performance boards Cons epoxy is a bit fragile, you have to take care of it so it doesn't get dings. also, there are no rings or gear-bungees to tie down a water bottle or pfd. it's not really big enough for a person and a medium-sized dog, plus the foam doesn't go all the way up to the front tip so if you do try with a dog the surface will get scratched. Usage exercise, surf

I am 6'4" & 195 lbs and this board is perfect. It is my first SUP but have surfed for about 6 years, which helped reduce the learning curve for SUP surfing. After only 3X out, I was surfing waves I could never have caught with my long board. The board is much sturdier than a surf board. People who dis the company for fin boxes breaking are likely surfing the board into the beach or shallow water, which will break any fin box. Riviera sent me the wrong board initially and were wonderful to deal with. They not only corrected the problem, they also gave me roof rack pads, a leash, t-shirts, hats & stickers for free. Awesome Company!!!! My wife has another brand SUP and wants to upgrade to a Riviera. The hand hold in the center of the board is deep and is well designed for carrying the board a long distance (over dunes & parking lots). The board is great on flat water too. It tracks and plains well......I can paddle for miles. I think I'm done forever with my long board and kayaks. Pros I like the three removable fins. The shape of the board is perfect for surfing (nice rails & rocker) and flat water paddling. I love the foam pad which eliminates the need to wax. The color and design on the board is nice too. I was so glad to discover a deep functional hand hold in the board. As someone who has done a lot of fiberglass repairs on surfboards, I appreciate the good quality construction of this board. Cons I wish it was lighter, but I know that just isn't possible. Lighter weight means weaker construction, so I'm content with the weight. Usage Surf & touring with exercise in mind. This board has strengthened my core and helped my aching back so much.

I am a 67 year old male who is 6' tall and weighs 200 lbs. who surfed for 40 years. Living in Idaho, I have only ridden it on lakes and slow moving streams. This is my first SUP so I can't compare it to others. It is stable with speed but tippy with movement forward or backwards and going through wind chop. I have ridden the board about 20 times. I have not surfed it yet. Pros Easy to carry, attractive, great on flat water. 4" fin is small enough to navigate through shallow streams. Would be extremely stable for someone under 6' tall and up to 180 lbs. Good shape for riding small surf. Cons 4" fin would be too small to crank large turns surfing in the ocean. Tall inexperienced, riders over 190 lbs.may have trouble with balance. The paint layer chips more easily than other surfboards I have owned, but no pressure dents in deck so far. Does not track as well as expected. Usage Flat water and slow stream cruising for exercise.

I used this board on Lake Tahoe as a rental board. It seems to be made for easy access paddling. It is pretty stable on flat water. Pros Nice design. Seems relatively durable. Cons Althought the board seems durable the rental place had many that were water logged due to the top and bottom areas separating on the edge. There were long cracks on the edge where the water gets in and there is no way to remove it, meaning the board becomes heavy and the water actually can be heard inside. I'm not sure if this is due to the being rentals and have a hard life and could be prevented if one takes care of them, but this is my personal observation. Usage Exercise, touring.

I enjoy the stability of this board as I hate falling in the water. I need a leash as I am not good at swimming. As an older person it's a lot of fun to take out in light winds. I try to wear water shoes so my feet won't get tired/sore from deckpad. I have trouble moving my feet. Pros Stability of board on lake. Cons Weight of board lifting onto suv Usage Touring for exercise

As a beginner and a senior, the 10'6 Riviera has been a great board for me. Pros Stable in the water and light enough for me to lift on and off my car top. I also like the simple and pleasing graphic design...doesn't hurt my head to look at it :-) Cons The only issue I have is I'm not steady enough to move my feet much and the textured surface causes bottoms of my feet to hurt after about 45 minutes. Usage touring

Owned this board for 4 months and loved it....very stable for a beginner who is also a senior. I can lift it myself on and off the car rack. I only take it out when winds are under 10 MPH and where there isn't power boat traffic, and it has been fun for me. My daughter took it out on Lake Erie in 23MPH winds and, while it took some effort, the board handled well in the wind and waves. However, my Riviera was run over in October by a careless driver (not me) and now, it seems, I need a new board. Pros weight; width / stability; color (bright but with a classic appeal...no crazy pattern) length: I can maneuver it and store it easily Cons lack of a bungee system (but turns out this isn't a major concern); the floor matting has a texture which, after about 40 minutes, is so impressed into the bottoms of my feet that I need to take a break. However, this may also be my fault, because I don't move my feet around much on the board like I probably should. Usage exercise, touring and family fun

I am paddling the soft-top version of this board. It is a good all-rounder. I'm just getting into the sport and this board has allowed me to explore flat water and small surf with confidence. It is one of the more affordable options especially in the soft-top incarnation and seems to be very durable. Pros Forgiving in the surf. Stable enough for my 155lb frame novice without feeling like a log. Cons Like all planing hulls it feel really slow in flatwater. Usage Exercise, small surf, instructing

Good for surfing and bay cruising - Pros quick maneuvers. stable Cons Fin box ripped out after 2 sessions of surfing. I've had a Hobie for 7 years and its bomb proof. Two days in the ocean on a Riviera and the fin box was cracked all around. Whats worse is the dealer and manufacturer wont honor the 3 month warranty. These boards are NOT durable, and the wont stand by them! Usage Bay cruiser -

Love my board! I surf it, race it, and pretty much use it for any type of water. Plus it's stable enough that everyone can play on it and get bitten the SUP bug! :) Pros Love the length and width, and the way it surfs Cons It's very heavy Usage All of the above, racing, surfing, touring, playing around on the river and ocean.

Pros 3/4 pad included. 3 fins, not one. Not a fast board, but maneuvers easily. Priced well. Cons No cut outs for tie downs for a dry pack or cooler. Usage Leisure weekend excursions.

Good surf.paddle board and works well for a bigger guy. Supports my 230# size well. Not too many waves caught due to lack of ability to get out to where there arecreal waves but the few I have.caught were fun. Pros Very stable. Nice look and finish. Durable. Cons Tracking is poor but what do you expect on a 10'6" meant for surfing. Usage Exercise, surf.
