I recently purchased a tent that I put to the test this past weekend on a canoe trip. The OZ tent is a tent that erects in 30 seconds flat. The fabric is sewn around a framework that allows the tent to achieve its full shape and integrity by simply grabbing it by the hand strap and pulling it up. The internal framework is then locked from the inside. A 5 year old can do it. It comes with a awning that extends out 6'. Not necessary to use it. Entire tent is waterproof. The floor is of heavy material but, a ground cloth is available. All guys are attached to the tent in pockets. There are no loose external pieces. Large window in the back, netting over door and storm flaps. It is a camp fire tent look alike. These tents come in all sizes. The dimensions are 6'6 wide x 6'6 deep x 6'5 high. Awning is 6'6. Cotton canvas material. Package weight is 35lb. My canoe is 16' and had to remove forward seat to lay the bundled tent on the floor of canoe. 17' canoe's should be no trouble. This thing is comfortable. Not recommended for portage, however. Below is mfg and contact info:
