2 years now and still loving…

2 years now and still loving it! The dogs and I spend every chance we can out on the Nalu, easier to SOT with dogs, SUP alone! Fast and tracks well, width ensures stability so we've never tipped over. I've shown others how it's almost impossible even when leaning over or embarking from the side from water. And the Nalu has helped convert friends into beginning paddlers. I'm going to purchase a Malibu Two XL this year, but will keep Nalu as SUP and as spare boat.

After kayaking around…

After kayaking around Taylorsville Lake, Ky for a few years I bought the Ocean Kayak Nalu 12.5 SUP. It is top notch. Handles great, tracks well, is light enough to toss up on the car without much problem. I can almost keep up with kayaker buds while paddling flat water. What looks to be the seat pad for sitting and paddling is aft of where I would like it and I'd also like a dry compartment instead of just a hatch to the inside off the hull. Deck channels allow for lower center of gravity, good for stability, but restrict foot movement. Integral hull skegs allow for very shallow draught. Overall a great boat, I love it!

I tried the Nalu 12.5 once…

I tried the Nalu 12.5 once again today in Tampa Bay along with a few other traditional and plastic SUPs including the Versa board (booooooo).

It tracks straight and is as fast as any regular SUP but much more durable/lockable/storable outside. It's a little on the heavy side at 50 lbs but is still portable by a strong person alone. I purchased it today then I installed a rear handle and two web strap side handles to allow solo shoulder carrying. It glides great and goes much shallower than any other SUP on the market. I look forward to using it a lot more when it gets warmer.

For me this boat is more fun…

For me this boat is more fun as an SUP than an SOT. One can stand up, lay down on your tummy, or sit and paddle as an SOT. You can go from a good full body stand up workout or a relaxing cruise as a sit-on-top, should you tire from standing.
I really enjoy the versatility of this boat.
