The NRS Paddle Clip is a…

The NRS Paddle Clip is a simple, oversized carabineer that allows a paddler to clip their paddle on their deck when they are resting. The carabineer is unique in, not only it’s increased size, but the ability to remain open so that you can insert the paddle shaft. The paddle then hangs off the edge of the hull in the water, does not float away, and allows you to have both hands free.

Although the device has a useful intent, in practice it is a bother to have this jangling off the deck, and requires some effort to pace the paddle in it during a rest. Better are elastic deck lines with wooden balls that allow a paddler to rapidly tuck the blade under during a rest break. Thus, this item is unnecessary. I use it as a traditional carabineer to hang my PFD on a hook in the garage.
