This is a great kayak. Not only is it a good looking kayak, it also handles extremly well. I've had it out in rough choppy water with high winds and it tracked true to course. The minimal weathercocking that occured was easily corrected by minor edging. I was able to keep it tracking straight while others that I was paddling with were using rudders. The hatches are water tight and the seat is very comforatble even when paddling for long periods. This is a very reasonably priced fiberglass kayak that has lived up to my expectations. The kayak is 16'2" and weighs 54.5 lbs. Mine is a protype, the changes that have been made from this model is that the seat has been made larger and the name has been changed to Performa.
Very attractive fiberglass...

Very attractive fiberglass kayak: 16.17'x23.62". Pleasing lines, top-quality fiberglass construction, top quality finishing, recessed deck fittings, and flush hatach covers that are truely water-tight (have inner waterproof neoprene covers). Vacume bagged for stronger lighter kayak, with double inner- and outer-seams between hull and deck. Matches the best construction I have seen in other kayaks. Most attractive to me...it has full thigh supports built into the cockpit that permits superior edging, turning, and rolling. It is a snap to roll, tracks great, and is very easy to keep on course with a simple brief edge while paddling. It has a shallow V hull, with some rocker, a sharp lifted bow and high narrow stern. It is built for tracking and really has no need for a rudder or skeg; not a sharp turner, but is easy to turn with proper edging. It is a very fast kayak (cruises at 5.5 miles per hour with no strain). Very comfortable cockpit with fully padded seat and back support. Surfs beautifully, and handles with east in rough wind and waves (25-30 mph winds, 4-5 foot waves) even when following from rear quarter. I would rank this boat as one of the best I have paddled!
