Remix 69
Remix 69 Description
The world works in cyclical ways and whitewater kayaks have progressed tons over the last several years. Change in the sport has taken us to unimaginable places and Liquidlogic has been proud to be driving that change. That said, as boats have gotten shorter, a fundamental concept is in danger of being lost. With the help of dozens of instructors, they designed the Remix series to carve, to glide and to provide beginners, intermediates and experts with that age old rush that comes with speed. Perfect for novices and instructors excited about rolling and proper eddy turns, big water junkies wanting to safely push their limits or experienced racers looking to cash-in, the Remix is a new concept altogether that combines the clear advantages of a relatively narrow and longer hull platform with modern chine placement to create an unrivaled comfortable, stable and responsive package. Like an updated classic tune with its new, funky, progressive backbeat, the Remix blends the soul of the past with the technology of present in a vision for the future.

This is my 3rd kayak running…
This is my 3rd kayak running class II and III and let me tell you this is the boat ive been looking for! This boat punches through holes like nobody's business and has some real speed. I always try to go down the rapids first to avoid flying past the other boats when the water starts moving. This the the corvette on the water.
remix 69, best beginner boat
bought this boat for my wife the newbie. LL makes the best boats on the planet. would take an asteroid to crack it. love the customer service, designs and everything about the company. i paddle a 79 for about a year now and it has easily handled everything i have throw at it. would recommend LL over any brand any day.

Liquidlogic Remix 69
All in all a great boat. The remix is great for a fleet of beginners learning the leaps and bounds of Whitewater Kayaking. Speed and durability are some of the best qualities. This boat also punches through holes and resurfaces like a champ. Could not ask for a better all around boat.

I can sit all day in this boat (5'9" 170lbs) This is a very sweet boat. No wonder they didn't change the design for all these years. It's a classic high quality boat. A keeper that are hard to find used.
Love it!!!

Great boat, delivery left something more to be desired
The boat is great and has been everything I expected. I would have given it 5 stars except when I picked up the boat it was stained from the exhaust of the delivery vehicle and it won't come out.

Remix 69 - My Baseline
In my three years of paddling WW the Remix 69 has become my baseline when evaluating the performance of other kayaks. The top three characteristics are it’s FAST, easy to roll and has an autopilot switch that engages when catching an eddy. Just don’t relax too much after you’ve landed. Ha. It doesn’t ferry as easy as a boat with hard chines, but refer back to my opening sentence. I have limited experience. That bla bla being said, attaining is a snap.
It’s often described as a beginner boat in reviews and easy to learn in. Maybe, maybe not. To me that kind of implies you’ll graduate from the Remix one day. Skip that ceremony. You may want another boat one day, but it won’t be better than a Remix, just different.
Thanks LL for designing the Remix.

This is a Fighter Pilot's Kayak
Picked up my Remix 69 Green Hornet at the factory on December 4, 2015 after a factory tour with Shane. Met some really nice and dedicated people. Employees get to take their dogs to work; how cool is that? No wonder the people who work at LL are happy. It was very interesting to see how the boats are made and is worth the trip to Fletcher, NC. I am a novice paddler competent in class 2 water; semi-competent in class 3. While looking for the boat to help me progress I’ve have paddled LL’s three main competitor’s river runner and creek kayaks. The Remix 69 is THE KAYAK. It just felt “right” as soon as I settled into the cockpit and eased into the water. A week after buying it, I paddled the Lower Green River in NC. It is a mostly class 1 water with a couple of class 2 rapids. The Remix 69 did everything LL said it would do. It is fast, edges well, zips across eddies and most importantly to me at this stage of my experience, it is remarkably stable even though very nimble. I never felt out of control. I didn’t need to roll it and since the water was very cold, I elected not to practice roll. This is the best compliment I can give LL. The Remix 69, even in the unskilled hands of a novice, handles like an F/A-18. I am really and truly glad I bought this Kayak and only wish I had bought it sooner.

Life with a "Road Cone" Remix -
I picked up my Road Cone Remix from the shipping Hub, drove to the local creek, dragged it out of the massive sock it was shipped in, fitted it out in the car park for the local court system [convenience nothing more] and took it for a test ride on Boulder Creek. Its a Hoot, everything I was told about the boat by other owners was clearly true, great volume but no so much that it felt heavy or sluggish. Boofs, turns and does what I want it to do. Fitting is great, seat is almost armchair like and the color is just Sweet. I think it radiates heat and makes my wife happy. Probably 'cause I am out of the house more!

Pure Awesome!
This boat is by far one of the best kayaks I have ever owned. It is fast, nimble, comfortable and easy to roll. I feel very confident with it and can't wait to take it on longer trips. Thank you for putting together a great boat once again Liquidlogic.

Love this boat, first owned xp9, then remix69, now settled with the 59. Fast as you need it to be. A little to get used to after getting out of the 69.

Excellent Experience
Just wanted to comment on the excellent experience I had with the recent purchase of a Remix 69. Special thanks to Crom and Ben who took the time necessary to answer all my questions and concerns. Buying factory direct was awesome. The staff are knowledgeable and extemely helpful. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I am very excited to get out there and break in my new remix, thanks again Liquid Logic.

Awesome!!
I love it, ive only had a chance to take it out 3 times since i purchased it. It's for sure a learning curve, the way every body movement impacts the way the boat goes is a new thing for me but its awesome. Im slowly getting a feel for it, but so far, so good. I did manage to flip it one good time. lol nothing serious but ive had a blast the few times ive taken it out. But overall, Awesome kayak, Liquid Logic is a awesome company, and tearing through whitewater in this thing is beyond awesome!!!!! Thanks to the team at LL! -Dylan

This boat will take you far.…
I own a Remix 69. I'm 6'1"…
Pros:
• FAST - like everyone else says
• Punches holes like Mike Tyson and generally stable. This same property holds true for diagonal waves, and funny water.
• Carves well
• Rolls like a champ - confidence building for newer people
Cons:
• The space behind the seat is a little tight to get bulky items in, but lots of room when they get past that point
• Some say it is hard to turn, and I thought so too until I changed my paddling style. The boat has to be driven from the front, turning strokes anywhere behind the knees will be near useless, Sweeps MUST start at the bow and go the full arch. Without this, they will seem 1/2 as effective as you would think they should be. Try a Duffek, or an open face bow rudder(plant the paddle way up front and vertical, open the power face with wrists cocked up).
• The boat is a little light on Primary stability, but after a day or two, it becomes a lot of fun to lay it deep into the secondary and carve.
• Could do with a smidgen more room in the toe box for big-feets.
Picked up a new Remix 69 by…
I started kayaking when…
The Remix has hull design very similar to the old Necky Jive but with more volume. It doesn't surf as well as a Jive (a tall order) but the extra volume is much more forgiving in big white water. The entry into the beveled edges is a bit more gradual than the Jive allowing for pretty relaxed side surfing. Plus with the modern outfitting it is about ten times more comfortable. I can sit in a Remix 69 comfortably all day and change the position of my legs (I am 6ft 180lbs).
General river running is very precise, predictable and at the same time forgiving. The hull speed is very good by modern standards (that is not saying much). One really stand out feature is how well it makes eddy turns. How much difference can there be you say? All I can tell you is that I have never had so much fun making eddy turns and I have owned or paddled a lot of boats. It is like it has little rocket boosters. One other thing it punches through holes like nothing and the same goes for corking out of the bottom of falls - again it is like it has little rocket boosters.
White water feels like a fun amusement park ride with this boat. If you are a beginner and white water freaks you out after some practice with this kayak you need to find a different sport. About the only criticism of the boat I have is the easily adjustable thigh braces although comfortable could be more solid and substantial.
I purchased a Remix 69 this…
The Remix handled very well, was amazingly comfortable, and rolls easily. I had no problems getting it up to speed when I needed it. In fact, I had to be careful that I didn't overtake other kayakers when we ran the rapids. With a 34" inseam, my feet were a bit cramped, but not fatally so. The seat was set up too far back when I initially got the boat and I had to move it about 1.5 inches forward to get good trim and keep it from wanted to spin on every stroke.
The only downside to running the Colorado was that when I swam (which I did 4 times) getting the boat to shore was a real bear. Even with float bags, the volume of the Remix means that it rides like a partially submerged submarine and is a real pain to tow. Of course, if I hadn't swam any rapids this wouldn't have been an issue.
So, all in all, it's a very nice boat and I am looking forward to running some more rivers in it.
Over the weekend, I motored…
That’s the closest I can come to describe the feeling of wriggling out of my river/play boats and dropping into the Remix. This boat is cocked, locked and ready to rock. It’s got the speed to crash through eddy fences and make attainments a breeze. But, the rockered ends enable it to sweep like a shorty.
It’s a unique hull design. Enough edge to get some carve on peelouts, but rounding sufficient to easily dial in a lean. It shrugs off funny water and tells the big stuff to bring it on. Ferries and draws are a walk in the park. Rolling? It’s up before you can think about it.
It loves to surf. If you’re on a side in a sticky wave, just use the flat plate on the stern deck to squirt right out. The outfitting is parlor plush, although I prefer a backband with a little more grab. The hip padding wraps up and around the cockpit rim. Nice for carrying on the shoulder, but may not be a friend to a tight sprayskirt. Overall quality is first rate.
Not wild about the color selection. The green and gold bring pea and squash soups to mind, and there’s no red available. The optional graphics packages are nice, but the flowery surfer edition pretty much confines your resale market to one gender, in my estimation.
If you need a reference point, think of a narrower creeker with speed and some edge. It’s not park n’ play; it’s let ‘er rip! But, it’s tough to typecast this “Back to the Future” kayak. It just can’t wait to get out on the big wave trains and punch through a few holes. If you feel the same, it may be the boat for you.
