This is my first kayak and has been great! Extremly stable, a little slow but gets the job done. Taken it on several small lakes and caught lots of fish. Able to bungee a milk crate with pole holders to the back and makes a good fishing kayak. Fits in my car with the seats flat and trunk tied shut and easy to carry under 1 arm to the water and back. Just needs to be a little faster and more comfortable seat and will be 5 stars.

The carrying handle came out the first time I used it. I thought if I screwed it in tight enough, it would be okay. Nope - the next time I used the kayak, the handle popped out again. A really horrible design - the carrying handle has a giant plastic 'screw' and is attached to, basically, a hole in the boat. My husband has a Lifetime kayak too and his isn't designed this way, his is looped thru a permanent notched area on the kayak. We've contacted Lifetime for other issues on another kayak and they've been wonderfully responsive. However I don't have a lot of hope for this issue because of the poor design, and there really isn't anything to make the plastic screw fit tighter or not come loose. Probably I will be sent some type of marine adhesive which I am not crazy about. The kayak floats okay- it's an inexpensive boat, permanent foot rests so good luck if your legs fall in between the slots.

It is a lot like paddling a raft versus a kayak, but it is stable. It would take a lot to tip it versus some kayaks. There are four drainage holes. Two of which are under your seat so you get a wet but. My solution was to place 2 foam practice golf balls in those hole and cover with gorilla tape. I then put a cushioned pad on top of the built in seat which makes it more comfortable. There is space in bungee area in the back to strap my transport wheels which is nice.
The main reason I purchased it was the price and the fact I could fit it in my Honda Civic with back seat down and the front passenger seat slid all the way forward. The trunk even closed! I now drive a Toyota Camry and the back seats don't lay as flat so it will not fit in the car.
It is not a serious kayak but will get you out on the water and will make your arms stronger as it takes more to paddle.

This kayak is great for beginners and it's light weight. I carry and load it on my own with no problems. I have no major complaint but the seat could be better. I would recommend this for no wake water and have enjoyed paddling around.

I love it. It is small enough for me to put in my car and carry myself. It's comfortable, sturdy, and just what I wanted. Paddles included. I'm a little older lady and it suits me perfectly. I've been dreaming of getting a kayak and this one is the answer to my dream. I think everything about it is good.It's not fancy and I'm not going to go whitewatering with it. I stick to lakes but it is just what I wanted. I feel peaceful and safe on it and I get my exercise too. I think anyone who wants a kayak would be happy with this one. I know I sure am.

I have two kayaks, both Perceptions. A girlfriend of mine and I were up at one of the lakes and decided spur of the moment to rent a kayak. They were both Lifetimes. It was a disaster. We couldn't hardly maneuver them out in the open water and when it was time to return it took us almost two hours to get back to the marina. Would have taken about a 1/2 hour in one of the Perceptions. I felt they shouldn't have rented them at all as it was a very large lake and needed something that could track through the water. We also had a very slight breeze and there were times we were paddling really hard and not getting anywhere. I don't think I'll be doing that ever again. I'll take my own.

So my husband bought this for a birthday gift! It would have been perfect except I really like kayaking! This kayak has made me so mad I have to do double time to keep up with others and then there is the time I spend having to rush to shore to empty all the water out of the inside. Always worried I'll end up swimming it back to shore. Spend a little more somewhere else and get your money's worth!

Purchased for $199 and thought it was a great beginner kayak. Wrong. Flat water only. It is very slow, hard to turn and a great deal of effort to move through the water. It is stable compared to some but if stable was 1-5 and 5 was most stable this would get a 1 or 2 at best. For the same money I returned this and got the Aruba 10 foot from Kmart and I must say there is not comparison for the money. Don't buy this one, get the Aruba 10 instead.

After talking with some friends we heard about Lifetime Kayaks and they're low price and my wife decided to buy one. We bought the Lifetime Daylite 8 ft kayak including the paddle from Walmart for $229 which looked like a great deal. The first time in the water, she wore herself out paddling this thing, so I tried it also. Tracking is very poor and it requires a lot of effort to paddle and it's slow. This is probably due to the totally flat bottom. It is very stable as advertised. I'm going to get rid of it. Our other kayak is a 10 ft Perception and the comparison is like night and day. She though paddling the Perception was virtually effortless compared to the Lifetime. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
