A word or two in praise -- with reservations -- of the old fashioned low-tech Bean boot: rubber foot and leather top, AND made in America. Perfect for canoe/camping in Maine (10" model); the 9 rating is that it's not so good in the Boundary Waters, which seem (in my very limited experience) to require thigh-high wading. There you'll want Keen closed-toe sandals...
