Surfs great, light and maneuverable but I agree with the other reviewer that the durability is terrible. I get a new crack/ding on the step down rail section pretty much every time I take it out. I have the chainmail construction too, which is supposed to be the stronger one. If the durability was better this board would be 5.0.
Pros
Very maneuverable, good volume for length/width, surfs great.
Cons
Durability/construction

It was fun to surf but durability made me hate the board. I destroyed one and the company replaced it. The rails are super mushy and weak with very little glass, they cracked under pressure from hard bottom turns. I was hesitant to surf it after the first but they promised that they stood behind their product. The second boards fin box bent sideways out of the board after hitting my shin and the rails started cracking after one 2 hr session. The company said they would not replace the board, would not pay for repair, and said I was overly hard on their boards. Maybe so, but I ripped my fins out and left it in the shop. It isn't worth the money to fix and is too weak to actually use to surf. Poor company and poor product.
Pros
Surfed good, very maneuverable. I enjoyed surfing it.
Cons
Duribility is terrible

I am pleased overall with the board. I got this as my first surf SUP with minimal surfing experience and find it to be a great board in glassy/clean conditions but, because of the 28" width, it is more than challenging and almost unrideable in choppy (side- or on-shore winds greater than 5-7 MPH) conditions for a surfing newbie like myself. Durability from newbie beatings also seems to be a little lacking BUT Bote really stepped up and sufficiently addressed that issue. I highly recommend this board for anyone that has experience surfing.
Pros
Light weight, maneuverability, fast drop-ins
Cons
Probably won't take the beating that a novice will give it
Usage

Strictly for surfing. Surfs great in small to medium conditions. I haven't surfed it in head high or above ...yet.
Pros
A short board feel and action w/ plenty of float and stability, even for big guys, 200 plus pounds. Step down rails make it easy to get on rail and transfer rail to rail. Super light at 16 pounds.
Cons
Nothing to dislike
Usage
Surf only
