First impressions are that it's a well-designed and well-made boat with nice lines and overall shape. The whole design has clearly been thought through to high levels of detail. For instance, the handles in the cockpit are in exactly the right place for your fingers when you sling the kayak up and carry it on your shoulder. That's when you also realize how light and easy to manage it is: I'm still to use a trolley even though I have more than a short carry to the water sometimes.
The design mirrors that of the Solstice GT apparently, and the cockpit is further towards the bow of the boat than in lots of similar designs I've seen (Stealth, Kaskazi etc.) but on the water you quickly appreciate that it's in just the right place: the boat is so well balanced it cuts effortlessly through the water and the way it 'smooths out' choppy water is almost disconcerting. Once you've set the rudder pedals correctly and get comfortable you find it feels really stable and it definitely inspires confidence (I also find the SmartTrack rudder system excellent to use).
It's efficient in terms of speed and I find myself cruising at 3 or 4 knots without too much effort, so it's great for touring. There's masses of room in the dry hatches too. I love the hop-on/hop-off-ability of the open cockpit and once you add a seat pad it stays comfortable for hours. Overall it's a great boat! Well-done Current Designs!
