Gemini GT Solo Description

Meet the Gemini GT - the ultimate modular solo, tandem, triple (or more) hybrid kayak from Point 65 Sweden. A kayak that answers the age-old dilemma of performance vs portability - the need for a high performance, rugged craft while battling the chronic lack of storage space & transport options.

Build any size you want - really! With Point 65's innovative Snap-Tap system, the Gemini GT is a kayak which snaps apart and re-assembles in seconds. Snap the mid-section and your Solo transforms into a high-performace Tandem. Add another mid section and it's a triple. (Mid-sections available for $400.)

Easy to transport: no heavy lifting and tucks under your bed! The Gemini GT easily fits into the back of most cars. So no roof rack, no heavy lifting and low gas mileage. Each section of the Gemini GT comes packaged in a durable box which makes them easy to ship, store and handle. It fits into a small elevator, under your bed or in your closet!

Works for me

Submitted by: Jace-L on 10/17/2017

I need a boat that would store in a small space and would seat two people. I bought the tandem version (3 sections). With a bit of Tetris and a tie down on the partially open hatchback, I can fit all three sections in the back of my Prius.

If I opt for two sections in the solo configuration, it fits *easily* into my Prius with the hatchback completely closed.

The tandem setup is incredibly stable and tracks pretty well at 14' in length. The solo setup tracks a little better than any other 9' recreational flat bottom kayak. Either setup is hard to drain and dry, and I had to install my own drain plugs. It can be difficult to handle, as the instructions state not to cart the boat in the tandem configuration, and the sections do not have comfortable handles for ease of portage. Again, one can install such things.

It has been a little hard to get a replacement part for a piece I broke on the boat, as the company hasn't responded to my emails.

That being said, I really enjoy this kayak because it perfectly fits my storage situation and effectively allows me to keep two boats (solo/tandem) in the space of one boat. There is plenty of room in the cockpit (24" wide) and my legs fit with room to spare even though I am about 6' tall.

** Just an update: the company did return my emails and gave me the parts I needed for free. **
