Flying Squirrel 95 Description

The Flying Squirrel 95 is a creek boat that's as comfortable running big volume as it is in the steeps. Liquidlogic started the design with the extreme race-winning speed of the Remix Series, added more rocker in the bow to get up and over obstructions, then packed a bunch more volume throughout the deck to shed water in drops and punch through big rapids. That extra volume also lends itself to carrying the load for multi-day trips. While the Flying Squirrel excels in tough whitewater, the same characteristics join with an easy-to-roll design to make it a versatile boat that will take your paddling as far as you would like to go. Whether you are pushing the top end of the sport or hoping to make that one line a little smoother, the Flying Squirrel will be the boat for you.

Liquid Logic Review

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 6/6/2016

I recently purchased a flying squirrel directly from Liquid Logic. It arrived in a few days, I could not believe how fast it was delivered. I was very impressed with the effort LL puts into protecting their product; it was more protected than some places ship televisions and arrived in excellent condition, not even a minor cosmetic scratch could be found which is just crazy. The outfitting is top shelf. The boat is incredible, but others have written far better reviews and a person can easily find the boat they want- LL has all types. I would definitely recommend buying directly from Liquid Logic to anyone looking for a LL boat.

The rodents are on the loose

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 1/18/2016

Extra,Extra....Read all about it. The squirrels have taken over, and there is no containing them!!! I have just recently bought a flying squirrel 95 and loving it as much as my 85! Upgraded to the 95 due to putting on a few extra winter lbs. thought it would be a big transition being that the 95 is a larger boat, but cant tell a difference at all! Love the rocker, catches eddies so easy. The squirrel has excellent initial and secondary stability. One boofing machine!Just the right amount of speed, and as always the bad azz outfitting is comfy and the best outfitting on the market! Liquid Logic has hit it out of the ball park with the squirrel!

Great boat

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 9/10/2015

Having paddled another large creeker, I had a good idea of how I wanted a boat to perform. First trip in the Squirrel and before I even had a chance to fully fit and outfit the boat, I knew I had found my boat. Lean forward and drive it and it tracks well; lean back and the stern edges let it turn quickly. It's fast and accelerates quickly. Love it.

Great Boats

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 8/31/2015

I bought my Flying Squirrel Green Hornet on July 31st and it was delivered to Ohiopyle for the fallsfest weekend August 22nd and 23rd 2015. It was delivered by Pat Keller who autographed it. I paddled my Remix XP 10 on Saturday on the loop run and felt good so when Sunday came I couldn't wait to try my new boat. I just started to paddle whitewater this spring and have never done the whole lower Yough. When I got in below the falls I was wondering whether I made the right decision to use a new kayak on my maiden voyage down some class III and IV rapids, it felt alot differant than my Remix. The first set of rapids were going good and I had a rock in front of me that I wasn't expecting so I paddled hard and Boofed off of it. After that the boat felt like a part of me, it made up for the mistakes that I was making. It carves into eddies, boofs and punches thru holes so easy that it ha s given me a hole new level of confidence. I plan to have many years of fun in my new ride.

So Much Confidence In my Squirrel 95

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 8/6/2015

Love this boat. It boofs so well - LL got the rocker dialed on this baby! Has the best secondary stability I have ever seen out of any boat. Now that I think of it, I'm barely ever upside down in this boat. I have actually started paddling my playboat a good bit lately just to get some roll practice and make sure I can still roll a boat. Speaking of rolling, the Squirrel rolls really easily. I'm a big believer that once you have a good roll you can roll any boat, but this boat is very easy to roll up. I had some trouble the first day in it making tight eddy moves when I was jet ferrying across the river because of the speed. Boat is so fast that it takes a little time to adjust. When you peel out and catch the current you had better be ready, because your going down river really fast when you first peel out. Once you get used to the speed the boat just gets unreal on the fun factor. I can literally just use the edges to make moves that in other boats I had to edge and use the paddle. I'm 6'1 205 lbs with size 11 shoe and the Squirrel floats and fits me perfect with lots of room. Outfitting is great as always with LL. Go try one out!!

The Fs.

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 7/15/2015

What an incredible boat. It replaced my stomper 90 and the transistion what very easy. I notice the speed right away as I barely paddle and fly through the water, edges were a bit different as far a turning on a dime into an Eddy, the stomper was more forgiving in the beginning but the FS has surpassed my expectations and is now my favorite boat. It paddles big nasty class four like butter and even surfs big waves tightly. The FS was made for the people and by the people I own 5 LL boats and I don't intend on buying anything else! -streetspirit

Waited two weeks for delivery.

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 6/20/2015

Appears to be some kinks in the shipping system. Your people Ben and Crom tried hard but 10 of us were forced too wait almost two weeks from the original delivery date. It sucked ass. When I get back to the U.S. I'll let you know how the kayak handles but you already know how the "buying experience" went...

Squirrel 95

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 6/5/2015

I must have had every type and kayaks out there over the years. I like how stable it is and how easy it is to roll. Now my complaints are I wish it had some edges to catch eddies better, guess I use it more for larger rivers. I also had trouble with the back band falling down on me. I drilled two holes in cockpit rim and out a 1/8" bungee cord to hold it up and took care of that problem. I had one other problem that I haven't address yet it the wing nuts that position the buck head dig in on my legs. Guess too use to Jackson rope that is very easy to move when you need to relax when in slack water.

LL Flying Squirrel 95

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 5/2/2015

First of all thank you Liquid Logic. I received my Flying Squirrel 95 in Golden, CO as part of a big shipment of boats while LL was on the road this spring. The transaction was great! I am 6'4 195 with a 34" inseam size 12/13 feet. Fits really well! I've only taken it out a couple times, but look forward to many great missions in this kayak.

Nice Kayak

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 4/21/2015

A nice kayak that is built with the same quality as my Liquid Logic Remix and Stinger XP...Ordering was easy and delivery was amazingly fast...The Squirrel 95 seems to be quite a bit more agile than the Remix 79 and the only reason I am going 4 stars is I haven't paddled it enough to decided if it will replace the Remix as my "go to kayak". Being a tall heavy guy I am partial to the older seat pan which feels lower in my 2010 Remix. The Flying Squirrel is a great kayak that has its place in the quiver.

I am a squirrel on the wind, watch how I soar

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 3/8/2015

I am incredibly impressed with my flying spuirrel 95, which have named "The Knight Squirrel" because everyone knows it's bad luck to have a boat without a name. I was at first reluctant to buy a boat I'd never paddled before, but haven't missed a beat in the Knight Squirrel after coming from a dagger nomad. This majestic craft glides into eddies like it was going out of style, it can maneuver like a boat half its size for making those river wide moves to avoid unpleasantness while creeking, and this noble vessel catches air on buffes in a way that makes the birds of the sky envious. Hands down the best purchase I have made in a long time.

First Flight

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 3/4/2015

This is my first whitewater boat. After much research I decided on the Flying Squirrel95. I ordered it off of the website and picked it up at the store. EXTREMELY friendly staff!!!! I was very impressed by the staff at the store. The boat is great. Very comfortable, and plenty of room for a long legged person like myself. The only this I am not crazy about is the way that the seat velcros to the top of the cockpit. That is the only negative thing I can possibly say about this boat. Great staff, Great Boat, Great Price!

Squirrel niner-five

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 2/25/2015

I've had a few months to paddle this thing now, so its about time to review. Last boat was a Stomper 90 paddling in the Columbia Gorge primarily. I really like the extra length and stern volume, feels faster and even more forgiving than the stomper. Deck height is similar to the stomper, It feels easy to get your arms around the deck, and feels like a smaller lower volume boat than it is. I really appreciate the generous bow rocker, it keeps you on top of most features, and helps carry the speed through diagonals or holes. I've tried the seat in a few different configurations, I find that I like it right in the middle. Shes a lot more responsive when you're weight is forward. Hull shape is great, comfortable, and pretty forgiving, but still fast and sporty, with a good edge feel in the water. Thanks LL!

Incredible!!!

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 2/8/2015

I took my new Flying Squirrel out on my local river (Loves Falls North Yuba) for a little test drive. The water was exceptionally high and this boat delivered!! Boofing over dangerous ledges, punching through super sticky holes and gliding over eddylines that swallow others. The combination of speed,boof-ability and comfort make the Flying Squirrel is simply incredible!!

The Squirrel is a sweet ride. It really takes care of you in the big stuff. I was worried about the correct size to get, since I'm 200 pounds. I went with the 95 and I know I made the right choice.

Awesome creek boat

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 1/26/2015

It seems as if I have owned just about every make and model of creek boat out there. I typically boat class III/IV and am making the transition to V. This boat has it all, speed, boofabillity, easy to roll, and as an "older" boater one of the most important attributes-comfort. The back band is exactly where I need it to be and makes boating so much better. This is by far the best boat I've ever owned. Do yourself a favor and get one today! SYOTR!

Flying squirrel is faster then the stomper. The extra volume is nice to ride a little higher on the water. Also more comfortable than the stomper (I'm 6'2", 208 lbs).

What a Kickass boat!

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 10/14/2014

No matter your skill level this boat will be your favorite. I would describe it like a luxury sports car, handles great , lot's of speed and more comfortable than your bed. I'm pretty new to whitewater I bought mine at Gauley Fest and the first trip down my local river I knew I had the right boat for me. I was punching thru holes that I had swam several times without even throwing a brace. I've also started making runs at much higher levels than I ever had before. ( My confidence is way up) I can honestly that this boat took me to a new level. If you're on the fringe at least demo one, I think you'll have the same feeling that I do.
