Traverse

I have the Temptation 10. This kayak rides true and is pretty easy to maneuver. My only issue is storage. When camping, all the supplies that I carry to the site, make my yak unstable. Never have flipped due to this, just scary in some situations. Other than that, I can carry a large cooler and a lunch box with small dry box. Paddled ocean, river and lakes in Florida.

My family and I had tried paddle boarding before and had a really hard time, and we're very discouraged. We rented the Emotion Traverse boards in hopes of it being a different experience and it was amazing. Even with joint problems I was able to get on and off the board and stand up on open water. This was such a fantastic adventure, and a "I did it" moment for my son and I. Pros Sturdy, stable, easy to get on and off, comfortable to just sit on and relax great for beginners, tall or larger people Cons The boards are a bit bulky and heavy.. so am I Usage Exercise and getting to snorkeling spots

This baby can take a beating. It's tough and durable for river runs. Pros Toughness Cons Very heavy Usage Pleasure :)

Great Board, seems indestructible. I'm a beginner and wanted an all-rounder. This board has performed, especially for the price. Pros Stable, took it on class II in Boulder Creek where I live and it was awesome. Removable fin. Afraid I would snap it in WW so it's nice to just easily remove it. Cons Little heavy. The middle hand hold is a little hard to hold onto. It's a little thick making you stand higher above the water than some boards. Since it's thick, seems like they could have put an in board reservoir to store more stuff to do an overnight paddle etc. Side handles actually got n my way, tool them off. Usage All-rounder. Lake and easy white water.

We bought two of these for our rental program because we thought they'd be durable but have been largely unhappy with them. They are somewhat durable but seem to get scratched and gouged surprisingly easy. Definitely very heavy and unwieldy. It would be very difficult for anyone except the strong to put on top of a car without another person or two. Performance wise they are unwieldy to use and seem to neither turn well or go straight well. I have no idea why they are listed on here as whitewater capable boards because I'd rather swim whitewater than go on this. We bought NRS Baron 6 boards after our experience with the Traverse and will be getting rid of these at the end of the year. Would not recommend. A stable and fun beginner to intermediate board that handles well and has high load capacity. It is molded plastic, hollow inside and has gear cords on the front. It is a bit heavier, so might require 2 people to carry it, but is great on lakes and calmer water. Pros High capacity and stable in calmer water. Cons A bit heavy and slower than slimmer and lighter boards. Usage Use on lakes for users of all ages. Great beginner board.
