At 30 inches wide, 10.5...
At 30 inches wide, 10.5 feet long and 6 inches thick this all round board can take you pretty much anywhere and paddle just about any body of water. It is surprisingly quick and agile, but the narrow width does make it a bit tippy for novice riders. It is also light (claimed weight 22 lbs.), which is exceptionally noticeable during transport and likely supports the board’s quickness on the water.
NRS is a reputable and leading manufacturer with a storied history – something most iSUP manufacturers can only dream of. One of the best things about this iSUP is the quality, craftsmanship and customer service you will receive owning this board. Yes, you will probably pay a premium price for this board, but the NRS Earl and NRS’s other iSUPs are premium paddle boards. All of the materials are top quality, the craftsmanship and thoughtfulness of the boards features are obvious. This paddle board is a great looking board too, although the white portions will soil and stain easily.
Another perk to this board is the high quality pump – called the super pump - that can handle up to 20-PSI. Interestingly though, the board can only be pumped up to 15-psi – less than some other premium iSUPs. The pump, often where other board manufacturers cut corners on costs, features a built in pressure gauge, and two settings – 1) high volume, to get you started, and 2) high pressure, to get the board to pressure. At maximum pressure, the board is as solid and firm as a non-inflatable SUP and you may find it humorous when an unfamiliar bystander will think that this inflatable SUP is filled with something other than compressed air!
Other noticeable quality features and nice touches that are not common on most other iSUPs is the premium air valve, US fin boxes, padded handle, kick tail, front and rear handles, and quality backpack - although I wish the pack had a hip belt and load lifters on the shoulder straps for hauling the board to the river, beach or lake. Another minor miss is the lack of bungees to strap gear onto the board and a set of D-rings near the center of the board, if you were inclined to attach a seat – both of which can be added on your own.
Finally, NRS offers a leading 3 year manufacturer’s warranty which I believe only Sea Eagle matches. Most iSUP manufacturers offer a 1 year (or sometimes less) warranty.
Quality features and materials. Thoughtful construction. Lightweight. Anticipated durability and long warranty. Excellent brand recognition and customer service.
Missing bungees and D-rings. Backpack needs a few improvements.

I purchased this Earl 6...
I purchased this Earl 6 board along with a Baron 4 after paddling the Baron at a ACK Demo event. I loved the Baron and thought I would give this one a try event though I expected it might be a little tippy. Well, I was right..for flatwater, it is a little tippy BUT a whole lot of fun. The 6 stands for 6 inches of thickness rather than anything about the length (something that confused me at first) and that's what I really like about this one over the Baron. It's quick to inflate and deflate (and because it's thicker, it isn't as important that I fully inflate it as it is for the Baron), smooth to paddle on flatwater once you get into a groove and so so much fun to play around in. I've enjoyed playing in the power boat waves of our central Texas flat water quite a bit on this board and am too the point where I no longer expect to fall if one catches me off guard. Eventually I'll take it to some whitewater and have some real fun.
Thickness, Glide on the Water
Inflation Not Easy Unless You Invest In Bravo Pump! Another $150 expenditure!
