I'm a 5'4", 135 lb paddler, I bough an Epsilon 100 Kevlar about 8 years ago. This is a great boat and I have paddled in a variety of conditions from Nova Scotia to Lake Ontario. I was very happy with the performance of the boat (and I still am), and had hoped to keep it for many years to come.
However, a few days ago I discovered a few small cracks on two spots of the transparent gel coat of the hull around where the car rack straps fit on the boat. To my alarm, I noticed that the fabric around large areas around the cracks is discolored, as sign of water penetration and delamination of the layers. I went on line and have read that this is not uncommon for kevlar boats. I have to get it to a repair shop and see whether they can do something about this (at at what cost).
My advice is, this is a great boat and I recommended, but if you buy it don't go for kevlar, it is not as robust as they make it out to be.

Now for the CONS > the screw/bolts weren't tightened or properly sealed and the hatches leaked, one hatch quite a bit. Boreal has not responded to our complaint, even after THEY solicited our comments after the purchase. That's beyond poor. Do they think they are the only company out there to buy from?
There will be future boat purchases. From them? Maybe not.
