This boat needs a rudder or skeg in windy conditions to deal with weather cocking. This boat is not for a small person but for those of us 180 lbs plus. I'm 200 lbs., 5'10" tall and find the boat very comfortable with almost to much wiggle room. The lines of the boat are beautiful so be prepared for lots of folks compliments.
This boat is not a play boat either for the craft has very little rocker, but is ideally suited for tripping. I would say that this boat is perfect for the novice in that the initial stability and seaworthiness of the craft will instill confidence in many conditions.

It has a real nautical feel. It paddles easily and tracks very well under normal conditions. Very stable. It tends to weathercock under strong crosswinds which implies the seat is a bit back of the balance point. As much as I dislike a rudder on a kayak, it would be a good addition to this boat if one were to use it for lengthy trips in open waters in windy conditions.
Regardless, the boat is a real eye-catcher and is very comfortable. A great boat for day outings or overnighters. Has enough volume to carry gear for longer trips too but that's out of the question for me at this stage of the game...
