I have a fourteen foot Bark Dominator, and have been training to race it in the up coming stand up paddleboard races. I have used several paddleboards, but the Dominator is by far the fastest board that I have been on. I think for flat-water, it is probably one of the fastest boards out there. I took her out last week in 20 mph wind and waves to give her a real test in adverse conditions. The Dominator did good in head winds of 20 mph, but the stability was very bad with the 20 mph wind and waves hitting me from the back an at an angle. Having revealed her weakness, I must also now reveal what I believe to be one of her greatest strengths. The interesting advantage that I have found in this board is in its sharp displacement hull. Looking at the Dominator from the side, you can't miss seeing that the nose of the boards extends below the rest of the board, and acts as a sort of fin on the front of the board. The result of this design is excellent tracking. This design allows you to get more strokes on each side, thus more speed. I really like the Dominator. Pros fast in flat water. Cons unstable with wind and waves hitting you from behind. Usage racing.
