Trip Overview

The put in was at the bridge on Skipper Bridge Road. The take out was at the old bridge on Staton RD. This was about a 2.5 hr trip. The water level guage at Pinneta FL was 8.0. This was found on-line. The water was moving fairly well, a few trees in the water and at two places it was quite narrow because of them.

Need to watch the current and entry angle to shoot thru these narrow places, the water tends to speed up around these obstructions and may pin your canoe against a log if you don't catch it right. At a little over half way (this is about a 6 mile run)there is a tree blocking the river that you must portage around. Not very hard but the ground was a little soft/muddy. After passing it the current was fairly steady and made for easy paddling. You will see the Staton RD takeout by the old bridge pylons still standing.

Overall a very good trip.
