Wintergreen Lake (West Rock Ridge State Park) in Connecticut

A self-supported trip created by guest-paddler

Trip Overview

An easy, smallish lake ~ 38acres.
Many little put-ins to stop and look at vegetation. Lots of native sedges and other water lilies and water life.

Wildlife is season dependent, but we saw robins, and heard quite a few toads perhaps?
Lots of fishing, and many anglers at each little cove.

It is dammed up, so stay away from the dam mid-way through the lake. It was not open when we were on it. not very buggy at all and a nice breeze kept things comfortable.

Ample parking, dirt/gravel. A short trek to the water.
No facilities.
Hiking and biking trails intersect so a mixed bag of enthusiasts

No fee for parking or using the ramp (no park fee at this entry point)

Exit 60 off Route 15, south on Route 10, west on Benham Street, left onto Main Street, access on the right.
