Trip Overview

We put in at the John's Road bridge and took out at the Lock 17 bridge(12.2 miles). The Oak Grove water station was showing a streamflow discharge of 111 CFS.

Water level/flow was not sufficient to make this an easy trip. Kayaks did a fair amount of dragging. There are four places along this section of the creek where large trees have blocked nearly the entire width of the creek. The water was crystal clear for the majority of the trip, pretty good fishing.

Trip took approximately 7 hours and 45 minutes.

Accommodations:

The put in at John's Road bridge is easy to get up and down. There is plenty of room for parking and I've never experienced any issues with vandalism to vehicles.

The take out at Lock 17 Road Bridge is STEEP, but manageable.

Fees:

No
