NOTE: This is not Paddle For Pints! If you are looking for a massive group watery pub crawl, this is not it. If you’d like a personal small group (2-10) program where the price includes very good kayaks, safety gear, a fine shore lunch cooked at your table, tasting flights and well trained guides, then you are in the right place. Think Quality, not quantity. This program combines lake, river and bay paddling, with an Ale-themed cooked lunch. Uncommon Adventures will provide all the gear and lunch, you bring an appetite, your time and some casual quick dry clothes.
You'll begin with a short paddle skills session and safety briefing on Boardman Lake with a paddle up to a park where you'll enjoy lunch specialties like Porter drenched whitefish filets on chiabatta with caramelized onion and wasabi mayo. You’ll make a couple of tasting stops down the river to sample the latest from Rare Bird, Right Brain or the Workshop and you’ll end with a rest at Little Fleet while your guide literally “runs” shuttle.
Around the Boardman dam...which gives a chance to stretch your legs and taste some frosty offerings just down the street.
Your Guides are trained ACA instructors with great local knowledge and a fine complement of safety gear including VHF radio. You'll find that they are also talented paddling chefs!
All Group gear provided is top quality. Uncommon Adventures provides a variety of single and double cockpitted touring kayaks. Life Jackets are new MTI models...and yes, you wear them.
Plans are made depending on weather conditions and what you feel like doing. Its your trip and Uncommon Adventures can always find a great place to take you paddling in almost any weather, but if we do not run the trip due to weather, you do not get charged.
