Shoal Creek - Lime Kiln to McIndoe Park Low Water Bridge

A self-supported trip created by paddler516151

Trip Overview

17 miles 4.5 hours with quick lunch break at Redings Mill 7:45 AM to 12:15 PM Nice quiet day on the creek. Only saw one other pair of floaters outside of the fishermen and swimmers at the public creek access points. We paddled our tandem kayak pretty steadily most of the trip, never keeping our paddles out of the water for more than a minute so we made the trip quicker than expected. Saw two bald eagles. One in a tree at Lime Kiln and the other flying over the creek somewhere between around mile 7 or 8.

Safety Notes

There were a lot of low branches over strong currents in the 2 miles from Gateway to Redings Mill. Be alert

Gear Notes

Tandem Kayak

Conditions

Water was cool and current was steady. Water level seemed about normal.
