Trip Overview
Anastasia Island St Augustine Fl, has an estuary behind the beach, in the same campground. No fees and if you want you can paddle to the ocean, warning there is a strong current at that point.
We went late so only paddled out an hour. The one side is a bird Preserve, that becomes a ocean Beach, the other side is expensive homes, large dock like structures, a sailboat and catamaran, parking area. Could be busy in season, but if you hug the park side you should be safe.

Hug the park side, too shallow for the big boats, don't go to the ocean if you are not a strong paddler
