Trip Overview

Day one- My expedition and I pulled away from the dam at Wappapello Lake, the Saint at this point, is semi muddy. I made ten miles today.

Day two- After Awakening to the smell of Coffee and Cinnamon rolls, we left. At Noon we had made five miles. The river here is very meandering, silty, and slow. My kayak made twenty five miles.

Day three- Entered Arkansas, and saw Crowelys Ridge, it is amazing how something so tall could rise out of a motionless plain. The Little River entered on River left. Halfway to the Mighty Miss. I made twenty five miles today.

Day four- Tyronza Arkansas welcomed us to their facilities. Today we would pass under I-40. Constant Motorcraft were all over the river, Water skiing was now taking place on the river. By dusk we had reached the Mighty Miss, we had seen the "Mud-Clear Line." the next day, our shuttle picked us up to head back to Saint Louis MO.

Directions:

To the Wapapello dam: take 67 south from STL. to Highway E

To Helena: From STL, take 55 south to West Memphis, and then Take I-40 to us 65 south. From Memphis: Take I-40 west.
