Reach 1 & 2 of the Grand River Heritage Water Trail, from Grandville City Park (because Johnson Park in Wyoming wasn't open by 8:30 AM). Launched with the intention of reaching Grand Haven by nightfall, because I was unfamiliar with the river. Very slow current, flat water until 11 AM. Between 11 AM and noon the wind off Lake Michigan picked up, and there were little whitecaps driving the surface current upriver. Pulled out at Eastmanville Bayou County Open Space.
