Trip Overview

We put in at the Rainbow River State Park, it is as beautiful as the Rainbow River. This is a very slow moving River, easy to maneuver and paddling upstream is a breeze. There is an abundance of wildlife, and a bird watchers dream. We saw alligator, river otter and numerous birds of interest. This River is crystal clear and you can easily see springs and fish beds. You can fish this river, but not in the vicinity of the head of the spring. I had a wonderful time and for an easy day paddle, dont miss this one. If youre looking for a longer paddle it intersects with the Withlacoochee and is equally as beautiful.

Accommodations:

Well maintained State Park. Plenty of facilities.

Directions:

From I75 you can take 484 west and then 41 south in Dunnellon, and follow the signs.
