Trip Overview

We decided on a last-minute day trip to break up the weekend that was close to home. We headed north for an easy family outing on the Pemi. We rented 3 kayaks and one canoe. Because of low water levels, we put in at "Robin's Nest", about 5-6 miles up river from the Campton pickup.

We were on the water for about 5 hours. Very pretty and easy. The current was almost non-existent, so there were some stretches of paddling, but certainly not difficult. Clear water and good stretches of sand made for many stop offs for swimming and picnicking. There are two rope swings along the way, as well as a RR trestle to jump from.

Overall, an easy trip, with lots of families on the water.

Accommodations:

Hotels abound in the area

Directions:

I-93 north or south, to exit 28. We rented from Ski Fanatics, on the east side of the exit. Nice outfitter and very informed and helpful.
