Trip Overview

Paine's Creek & Cape Cod Bay
We paddled from beach we were renting at; about 1/2 hr east of Paine's Creek. There is a launch at the mouth of Paine's Creek, but I think you need a Brewster sticker to park there. It's probably 15-30 minutes up river depending if going with or against the tide.

Nice marsh land, marsh birds and an Osprey nest which had mother and chicks when we went.

Kayaking in the bay is very nice when not too windy. Tide goes way out, so have to time it.

Can also get access to Quivet Creek just a bit west of Paines, but we didn't get time to try it. Several folks were fishing in bay from kayaks and some had some keeper strippers.

I haven't kayaked a large amount (Everglades Florida, Boothbay ME) we all really enjoyed this little trip in our Santee XL and Pungo 120.

Fees:

I think Brewster town sticker for parking at Paines creek launch.

Directions:

Launch point is at end of Paine's Creek Road in Brewster, MA.
